You may notice a few changes at the gym…
Hello everyone! As I write this, I stare out at a winter landscape of snow and cold. I hope you are all staying warm and active!
If you’ve been to the gym recently, you may notice a few small changes:
Equipment changes:
A second cable machine has been removed to make more functional space available for training around the gym.
Equipment has been rearranged to create a better flow of space.
A new Stairmaster Step Mill has been added to the cardiovascular equipment at the gym. This is one of my favorite strength building cardio machines! This is a great addition to the gym and I hope you try it out.
Smaller additions:
Squat/Bench Safety Bars have been purchased for the squat rack - if you decide to use them, please remove them after use and put them back by the squat rack.
A variety of weighted Steel Maces have been purchased for the gym. They are near the kettlebells. If you’re not familiar with steel mace work, they are interesting and fun pieces of exercise equipment that consist of a weighted metal ball attached to an elongated handle. They are asymmetrical in weight, which makes them both challenging and fun to move around.
Squat Wedges have also been brought into the gym as Ankle Slant Boards for your leg work. They are at a maximum pitch of 10 degrees.
As with ALL exercise equipment in the gym, whether it is new or longstanding, please be cautious when using equipment. I strongly encourage researching the tools you wish to use at the gym ahead of time. You can of course schedule a session with Navin to learn how to use these new tools, what they do, and how you can incorporate the movements into your routine.
There also is a wealth of information and videos available online that can teach you about the new items brought into the gym. Here are some samples of the information that is available:

Last bit of housekeeping:
You’ll notice more drinks in the refrigerator again! Please know that while seltzer and espresso are still complimentary for gym members, any of the performance drinks taken are for sale and not complimentary.
It’s $3.00 for any performance drinks (Powerade, Gatorade, Bai Electrolyte Drink, etc.). The easiest way to pay is either using the Venmo QR code on the refrigerator door or to purchase them ahead of time on the website when booking a session, as an add on.
That’s it for today, stay healthy and warm!
